Meaco DD8L Portable/Compact review
Best for cold rooms and winter use. The Meaco DD8L is the one we would look at when the space is cooler than a normal heated living room. Because it is a desiccant dehumidifier, it stays useful in lower temperatures where compressor units can be less effective. It is also lighter than many compressor units, which matters if you move it between rooms.
What we like
- Works well in colder spaces
- Lightweight at around 6.4kg
- Laundry mode and continuous drainage option
- Good fit for caravans, garages and utility rooms
What to watch
- Can use more power than a small compressor in warm rooms
- Tank is not huge for heavy laundry loads
- Not as polished-looking as newer lifestyle models
Our take
Should you buy the Meaco DD8L Portable/Compact?
Choose this if your damp problem is in a colder space, or you want a portable machine for winter use.
Think twice if: Skip it if you only need a low-cost unit for a warm bedroom with mild condensation.
